Hello All. Relaxation is one of my favorite ways to destress that I can do at work and at home. Especially when I have a few quiet moments; which is rare at work. The relaxation provided to us on our Unit 2 was easy to use and follow. Guided relaxation is was how I first began to learn this stress management technique, and now that I know how it works, I can "guide" myself. I almost feels like a mini vacation.
Hi Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that the guided relaxation was very easy to listen and follow along to. It was easy to empty my mind and allow myself to be guided through the technique and feel less stressed and definitely relaxed at the end. I like the way you relate stress management techniques to a mini vacation. You are right, it definitely helps to take us to a calmer, happier place. Sandy
Hi Caroline,
ReplyDeleteMy first introduction to stress technique was a class offered at my place of work called Heart Math. The name sounded a bit odd but the information we learned was amazing. I would not have believed the results of the technique if it was not demonstrated. It is mainy focused on breathing and focus and how you can maintain a steady heart rate and remain calm when in sticky or stressful situations. (Angel)
Caroline,
ReplyDeleteI just about fell asleep after the meditation exercise. By participating in this exercise brought me relief and I realized once again just how important it is to find time every day for inner reflection and focused intention to relax and ease the body's stress. This in turn brings our attention to the inner-self for reflection.
Guided imagery is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and has an invaluable impact on our health. I find myself utilizing meditation more and more to shed the stress and bring about inner-peace! Any other guided imagery tracks recommended out there?
